Hi, I'm Shelley
I've been a licensed child care provider in Maple Ridge for over 28 years nurturing young children to grow & develop in a supportive, consistent & stimulating play-based environment.
The children's social, emotional and cognitive growth are of great importance to me and I take pride in helping them gain confidence and independence they need to enter Kindergarten. I allow the children to explore and be curious inside and outside, in a safe manner, while continually learning to respect themselves, their peers' and other adults.
I work in partnership with and listen to the parent's concerns, give them guidance when necessary and we celebrate the smallest of accomplishments. Consistent socialization and play in early childhood has been associated with higher levels of empathy, resilience and prosocial behaviour later in life.

I know the current challenges & stress of finding child care in our community is at an all-time high and I have a very long waitlist to prove it. If space opens up before June, I am open to providing temporary child care to bridge the gap until you find a permanent space elsewhere.
After 30 years of cherishing little ones, it's time for me to start a new adventure. As of June 30/24, I'll be closing the doors of my daycare to focus my energy and passion on being a Birth & Postpartum Doula.

But hey, the journey doesn't end here! I'll be here to support folks before the need for daycare or early social settings for their wee ones, helping to navigate through the beautiful moments of pregnancy, birth & the early postpartum period and easing you into parenthood. Plus, my nutrition expertise is still at your service for optimal health & wellness. So, while this chapter closes, another beautiful one is about to begin.

It's been an amazing & unforgettable ride where clients have become like family. I look forward to continuing to make connections, building foundations & witnessing positive outcomes.
